Erick Heredia is a Ecuadorian artist and architect who specializes in Andean mythology. His artwork beautifully incorporates legends from Andean folklore and other South America mythologies. Born in Quito Ecuador, Erick hails from the Andean highlands region, situated at 0.0 latitude. Ecuador itself is geographically divided into three distinct natural regions: the costal lowlands, the Andean highlands, and the Amazon rainforest. Inspired by the diversity of Ecuador, Erick takes great pleasure in visiting each region, engaging with the locals and indigenous communities, as they hold unique legends and stories specific to their respective regions. Ecuador holds a plethora of rich traditions and festive celebrations dedicated to religion and the reverence of Mother Earth, known as (pachamama). Erick finds deep meaning in these fiestas, as they represent a mix between fiction and religious beliefs. During his extensive travels across Ecuador, Erick has collected a wealth of stories, which he proudly incorporates into his artwork. By doing so, he hopes to preserve these traditional tales so they are not lost over time. Erick has gained recognition through his participation at individual and collective exhibitions throughout South America. His ultimate goal is to continue sharing his art with others, so that they too can enjoy the vibrant culture and captivating stories Ecuador has to offer.
